3Ps to Sustainability

This is one of the sessions under the 3 P’s to sustainability: A grand convention under operations management area. The main theme of this session was Human Capital Investment. The seminar started with a prayer and the master of ceremony of the said session is Mr. Michael Lee. Then, the Sac Boys performed some song number for our audience as well as for our speaker. Then the one who introduced our speaker is Mr. Rommel Pica. The resource speaker of the breakout session of the operations management are was Ms. Joan Barrientos-Garcia. She is the current training manager in the World of Fun. Her topic was “Cultivating Institutional Loyalty among Employees”, the main objectives of this seminar were as a future manager you must need to gain loyalty from your employees and how to show your loyalty to your employers or to the company which will you will be working. She first discussed the employee’s situation in the Philippines and some values of the employees in the corporate world. After that she discussed the employee engagement, by this we can gain loyalty from our employees. There are seven steps which are derived from Abraham Maslow’s theory of needs. And after that, she discussed how to begin your career, and what are the factors you must think before you apply a job. And she discussed the dos and don’ts if you are engaged in the job. And to end her discussion she leaved us a quote from Steve Jobs which is “The only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven’t found it yet, keep looking. Don’t settle. As with all matters of the heart, you’ll know when you find it”. After her fruitful and wonderful we’ve watched an audio visual presentation which is made by Mr. Rex Darwin V. Sabariaga entitled “The Growth” which is about learning can make you grow and the schools can be your training ground for the outside world. After that we proceed to the open forum and Ms. Garcia answered all the questions gracefully. After the open forum we sing the alma mater hymn of the Colegio de San Juan de Letran.
