Event Management Seminar
This is the first seminar organized by OM4A for our course in SWP. The seminar was organized by OM4A, OM4B and EN4A. Our section had contributed the program flow, national anthem, closing remarks, intermission numbers, introduced the speaker and one of the hosts in this event. Before the event we consolidated all our preparations to make the best seminar as we could, and with the help of our professor Dr.Aldrin Sacristan, we managed to make this event successful. Initially, he let us handle the planning, provided advice and approved the plan. He would also always set aside some time for us to practice.
On the day of event, the participants were from the sections of OM4A, OM4B, EN4A under Dr.Aldrin Sacristan and FM4A and FM4B under Asst. Prof. Guillermo Briones.
The opening prayer with candle lights was good as well as the national anthem especially when Mr.Fajiculay brought the flag to the stage flawlessly. The Masters of ceremonies were remarkable because they delivered their introduction smoothly. Ms. Khristine Bustos also delivered her opening speech splendidly. After that Ms. Vanessa Mendoza introduced our speaker - our dean, the dean of College of Business Administration and Accountancy, Prof. Cristina Castro-Cabral, Ph. D.
Dean Cabral taught us how to organize a seminar, what a seminar is, the do’s and don’ts and the opportunities on organizing a seminar. She is a very good speaker as she specifically taught us all the necessary things we must learn. Many students admire her skills when it comes to public speaking.
And after her talk, we made room for an intermission number prepared by our section. After that we proceed to Open Forum in which any of us were freely able ask about anything related to her talk. After that we gave the token of appreciation to Dean Cabral for making a time just to teach us how to manage an event. After that, there was another intermission number- a dance presentation from OM4A then a video presentation made by Ms.Jasmin Bea. The event was formally closed with some remarks by Mr. Rex Darwin V. Sabariaga. There was a closing prayer and singing of the HymnodelColegio de San Juan de Letran.
We are thankful for this seminar because we have learned so many things especially on managing events. Because of this, we know that we can organize better seminars in the future. We must start our future seminars and convention with high energy and end with a bang.
