3Ps to Sustainability: A Grand Convention 8:00AM-12:00NN | Letran Gym
Colegio’s Business Administration programs held their annual grand culminating activity for their Seminar, Workshop Program (SWP) course. The said event entitled 3Ps to Sustainability: A Grand Convention transpired on September 14, 2012 at the Blessed Antonio Varona Gymnasium. Invited guest speakers who tackled the three major approaches to sustainability: people, profit, and planet, were former DENR Secretary Lito Atienza and Managing Director of ABS-CBN Foundation and Chairperson of Pasig River Rehabilitation Commission Ms. Regina Lopez.
Opening Remarks of Fr. Juan Ponce OP and Inspirational Talk of Fr. Tamerlane Lana OP both reminded students and present guest attendees on how to protect the environment and value human life while making profit or achieving one’s specific goals. Keynote Speaker Honorable Lito Atienza discussed obligations a responsible citizen should undertake, especially the government servants who have the authority with them to be followed by the people. Hon. Atienza gave emphasis on public servants to be more dedicated with their jobs and should be more focused on the environmental condition of the country. Meanwhile, Ms. Lopez sent message addressing the business industry which primarily affects forests and seas with their operation, particularly the mining sector. Both speakers stressed that if the giants could not take their responsibilities, individuals should already act on their part and start on their own because if no one would initiate, nothing will change.
This year’s grand convention centering on the three Ps to Sustainability sends out message to future organization leaders to start anew and be more considerate with the three approaches: people, as the aides to the success of the business; profit, the valuable return for the risks undertaken and; planet, as the source as well as the end user of the business.
