Enhancing Competitiveness through Mentoring and Coaching
Last July 26, 2012, the class of OM4B under the guidance of Prof. Aldrin T. Sacristan, DBA held a seminar entitled: “Enhancing Competitiveness through Mentoring and Coaching “ at Saint Thomas Hall, Colegio De San Juan De Letran, Manila. Coach Roderick Reyes of the Junior Squire Team was the resource person who shared his wealth of experiences, both in the industry and the field of sports, in basketball in particular.
The seminar started with an opening prayer inspired by the NCAA 2012 opening ceremony. The opening prayer consist of seven individuals, two women and five men to form a rosary as part of the prayer. Just right after the prayer ends, a military march and a music starts to remind the audience that the national anthem was already starting showing Dr. Jose Rizal, portrayed by Andrei Pantin, was shot dead after which the national anthem was played. Prof. Cristina Castro-Cabral, Ph. D, CBAA Dean, delivered an inspiring message before a letranite audience, followed by the introduction of guest speaker by Ms. Maureen Isabelle Fernando. Coach Roderick Reyes was very direct to his point and kept the audience alive for the next hours. The organizers of the event were surprised because after the talk, a number of students asked several questions. Prof. Mary Rosaleen Agaton, DBA, chairperson of the Operations and Management Area assisted by Richard Allan M. Ponce, awarded the certificate of appreciation to the speaker. Mr. Ralph Ponce, the coordinator of OM4A said that this event marked as a “milestone in our academic life.” “All our hardships and dedication to put up a seminar finally comes into a reality.” The seminar ended with a closing prayer which was lead by Shiela Reambon followed by the singing of the Colegio’s Alma Matter Hymn. |
