Optimizing Financial Resources and Reducing Financial Risks through Decision Making
We the second group of seminar workshop course held our SWP event after the first group. We fixed the venue (Quezon Hall), affixed our tarpaulins for display and arranged the equipment that will be used in the event. Our speaker along with some of his corporate friends arrived at the venue earlier than expected. One of the dilemmas that we faced is that when the guest speaker arrived, there is still no audience (students) in the hall because they have classes during that time. Also, Mr. Banderlipe, since the time of our event is also the employee’s break time, was still not available.
The program committee entertained the speaker for the mean time. As soon as Mr. Banderlipe and Mr. Briones arrived, the event had pushed through. Even there is not much of audience yet; the opening prayer has been lead to stick to the time frame given. The program went on and Mr. Galang, our speaker took the stage and started his presentation.
He discussed things about financial resources, how it can be managed, and how a true financial manager can manage his money. He discussed things while incorporating it with faith. In the latter part of the event, unfortunately, the electricity went off. We are so shocked because electrical outage during that event was really uncalled for. Before the lights went off, he was discussing about financial resources, and when the electricity went out, he said that “Letran lacks financial resources” through a joke, which us, the event makers really nervous. After a while, the lights already went on and through God’s mercy, the event successfully pushed through. Ceremony rites were held at end of the event and ended the event though closing remarks and closing prayer.
