For Academic Year 2012-2013, the College of Business Administration and Accountancy (CBAA) puts premium on the most vital of all economic resources - PEOPLE. As such, the research undertakings of the faculty members are centered on the Human Capital Investment Theory; and the over-arching theme of classroom discussions is pushing people’s frontiers and maximizing their full potentials.
It is thus but proper that the Seminar Workshop Program (SWP) of the College, one of her best practices, likewise puts PEOPLE as the centerpiece of learning. What is great about the SWP is that the students get to hear from industry experts whose extensive and exhaustive experiences complement and supplement classroom discussions.
As a College of Business, PROFIT is a terminology that CBAA defines, a goal CBAA aspires, a commitment CBAA teaches, and a life CBAA practices. Yet being both CATHOLIC and DOMINICAN, CBAA defines, aspires, teaches and practices PROFIT beyond oneself, bound by ethics, followed in conscience, guided by faith. “For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?” (Mark 8:36)
In the course of all these, the College recognizes, too, the other essential resources the PLANET has to offer. It is noteworthy to mention that in recent years an increasing number of individuals and companies have become conscious of the importance of consuming and replenishing, of taking and giving back, of nurturing and harvesting, of maintaining, retaining, sustaining.
I commend the faculty advisers and students, for their fervor and dedication. They have countless stories to tell, wounds to bleed, scars to show, sleeps lessened and lost, all pains and gains, tumble and triumph, and hundred-fold graces.
