THE THREE BOTTOM LINE APPROACH TO SUSTAINABILITY: Planet, People, Profit
The Colegio de San Juan de Letran, a Dominican Institution of learning, offers a subject that aims to hone its students in organizing events and generating funds to support various noteworthy endeavors - the Seminar, Workshop and Practicum (SWP) course. Annually, students of this subject are encouraged to pioneer seminars and a grand convention, as part of their final requirement. This serves as a training-ground for the Filipino project managers of the future.
This year, the SWP classes, under the College of Business Administration and Accountancy (CBAA), organizes an annual grand convention that focuses on the three bottom-line approach to sustainability (i.e. Profit, People and Planet)on September 14 at the premises of the Colegio. Notable speakers have been invited to impart their knowledge on Business Profit, Human Capital Investment and Environmental Management.
The event will be divided into two parts: the Plenary session which will be held in the morning featuring the keynote address centered on the “three bottom line approach to sustainability specifically People, Profit and Planet, and the parallel sessions in the afternoon focusing on human capital investment-people, role of business in development and economy-profit, environmental protection-planet, and business opportunities amidst climate change and global warming-entrepreneurship.
